High-level Economic Study on Energy Efficiency in Accommodation and Agri-foods & Metalwork Manufacturing

A “High-level economic study on energy efficiency in the accommodation, agri-food and metalwork manufacturing sectors” authored by Deloitte, in collaboration with the Malta Business Bureau and Eurochambres is recently published. This study is financed by the EnergyEfficiency4SMEs project, a project co-funded by the European Union, in which Eurochambres is the lead project partner along with over 20 partners across Europe implementing the project.

The purpose of the study is to carry out initial research on energy efficiency amongst business operators in 9 partner countries of the consortium in the following NACE codes:

  • Accommodation and food service activities (NACE codes: I55 to I56.3.0)
  • Manufacturing – Agri-food (NACE codes: C10 to C11.0.7)
  • Manufacturing – Metalwork (NACE codes: C24 to C25.9.9)

The EnergyEfficiency4SMEs project emerges as a timely initiative aiming to bridge the gap between technical energy knowledge and strategic company direction. At its core, the project is designed to bolster the proficiency of energy technicians within enterprises and achieve carbon emissions reductions in businesses across Europe. This enhancement of skills ensures that technicians can effectively translate intricate technical studies, such as those at the boiler room level, into strategic propositions that resonate with top-tier management. Moreover, the initiative seeks to augment business acumen in navigating both public incentives and private financing avenues.
